Bryan Paraprofessional Pam Kreutz Selected as 2018 FHSD Support Staff Employee of the Year

The Francis Howell School District is proud to announce that Pam Kreutz, paraprofessional at Bryan Middle School, has been selected as the 2018 FHSD Support Staff Employee of the Year. Kreutz has distinguished herself as a dedicated employee by continually going above and beyond to support her school community.

“I want to express my deep appreciation to my co-workers and district employees for this honor,” said the unassuming Kreutz. “Every day, I have the privilege of working with special needs students, each facing challenges that are beyond their control. I am definitely blessed to be a part of their lives. My students help to fulfill my life, reinforcing my joy of being able to create a positive, caring learning environment for them and by providing me with memories I will treasure forever.”

Being a positive role model and setting a good example are important to Kreutz, and her principal as well. “Pam is committed to making a difference for students and staff, and her willingness to help has no boundaries,” said Bryan Principal Dr. Suzanne Leake. “If Pam notices an opportunity to make Bryan Middle better for students, she takes it upon herself to make that happen. She is committed to creating an environment where all students have opportunities to be successful.”

Kreutz was taught to always put forth her best effort in everything that she does personally, socially, or professionally. She has a very strong work ethic and strives to share that attribute with her students. “If a student I'm working with needs extra help and their parents want them to stay for homework club, I stay with them so they get the one-on-one help they need. My day doesn't stop when I'm off the clock.”

Supporting students happens in a variety of ways. Kreutz believes that one of the greatest things we can teach students is how to make good decisions. “Every time a student has the realization of the difference between what should or shouldn't have happened, golden moments are created. Each of the these golden, breakthrough moments with my students here at Bryan help to fulfill my life, reinforcing my joy of being able to create a positive, caring learning environment for my students, and by providing me with memories I will treasure forever.”

Kreutz will be honored, along with each school’s Support Staff Employees of the Year, Teachers of the Year, Howell of Fame Award winners, and District retirees at the annual Howell of Fame Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 7, 2018.
